Nikkei Research Inc. announced today that music is the most downloaded movie contents for mobile phone users in Japan regardless of ages and the core users are generations in their teens and 20’s. The questionnaires conducted in May for six days show that 21.3% of the generations in their 10’s -20’s use the mobile phone movie contents, 7.9% for 40’s, 4.4% for 50’s – 60’s, while the average remains to be 12.1%. 60.7% of users download music, 20.4% for news (excluding sports news), and 13.6% for hobbies and entertainment. Breakdown by generations for music indicate more than 60% of the generations below 40’s download music and 29.5% for 50’s – 60’s. Similarly, 29.5% of the generation in their 50’s – 60’s download news which is relatively higher than other generations.
